Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule plans the return of a traditional spring football game in 2026, with a kickoff date earlier than usual.

LINCOLN — A year after Nebraska scrapped its traditional spring game in the name of guarding against transfer defections, the full-contact scrimmage could be back on the schedule in early 2026.
