Snow to begin in the early morning, with high accumulations expected for the storm
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM)- Cloud coverage increases tonight ahead of the snowstorm, with low temperatures near 7 degrees. Winds remain calm overnight. Snow begins around 5:00 in the morning, before snowfall rates increase by 8 a.
Snowfall will begin to accumulate on Saturday afternoon and continue throughout Sunday. Roads will become difficult if not impassable at times.

Violators could be fined | Inspectors to begin enforcement of snow, ice removal requirements
Residents who don’t remove snow and ice from their sidewalks could face fines starting Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service, anyone with errands to run on Sunday should plan on getting them done early. Snow is expected as early as 9 a.m. in some areas, and the storm should be in full swing across the state by early afternoon, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Francis Tarasiewicz.
The latest forecast puts Central Park at 12 inches of snow, and that’s still the highest snowfall seen there in several years. The last time New York’s weather station in the park saw more than a foot of snow from a single storm was in 2021.
