This morning we woke up to a mad scrabbling in the walls. We thought it was a squirrel or raccoon caught in the wall. It was clearly trapped whatever it was! So we cut into the wall and… out came an Ermine or Stoat! Ermines are white in winter (with a black tip on its tail) and brown in summer. It’s one of the smallest in the weasel family. They have SHARP teeth and are carnivores. They eat mostly moles and mice! They climb well and swim well. The good news is we caught it and released it back o
